Advertising NRE Use, Ministry of EMR Holds Thematic Forum of Bakohumas

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) is holding a Thematic Forum of Government Public Relations Coordination Agency (Bakohumas) in Bandung, from Wednesday (27/11) until Friday (29/11). Titled "Renewable Energy, Now and Later", the Bakohumas Forum focuses on the role of Government Public Relations (GPR) in publishing the uses of New, Renewable Energy (NRE).

"As Government Public Relations (GPR), we have to participate in and support the publication of NRE products by informing the public the advantages of NRE products, so the public will better understand NRE and NRE will have positive product image," said Secretary of Bakohumas Helmi Hafid.

Helmi also hopes that GPR support in the campaign "Renewable Energy, Now and Later" can make the Indonesian people aware of the need to shift to environmentally friendly, renewable energy and no longer depend on fossil fuels; thus, air pollution can eventually be reduced.

"In addition, the campaign can attract people's attention and other countries' attraction to import renewable energy products from Indonesia," he continued.

This is in line with the government's current focus, particularly in the EMR sector, in which NRE resources are developed and used to realize the 23% NRE target in the national energy mix of 2025, as mandated by the National Energy General Plan (RUEN).

Ministry of EMR, according to Head of Organizational Relations Section Salman Akira Togi, has made various efforts to promote renewable energy development and to speed up energy transition.

"The programs include Mandatory B30 Program, distribution of over 300,000 Energy-Saving Solar-Powered Light Bulbs (LTSHE) for communities living in the remote rural areas in Indonesia, construction of more than 26,000 Solar-Powered Public Lighting, issuance of Ministerial Regulation on Rooftop Power Plants, and drafting of Renewable Energy Road Map," he explained.

In the first day, the Bakohumas Forum presents content creator Yudistira 'Udd' Sondakh who discusses the how-to of attractive video content on government social media. The second day will consist of panel discussion about NRE Potential and Rooftop Electricity with Director of Various NRE Harris and VP Planning and Development of Innovative Products of PT. PLN Leo Basuki, and is concluded with factory visit to PT LEN Industri (Persero). (IY)
