Energy Fest 2020 Attracts Capacity Crowd

The second session of Energy Fest 2020 on Thursday, (17/12), presented President Commissioner of Indonesian state gas company PT Perusahaan Gas Negera (PGN), Arcandra Tahar, as a panelist. Arcandra shared his experience in leading the energy sector, especially the oil and gas industry.

"A good leader must understand himself, what his strengths are, how he works, what value he appreciates, and how he can make contribution," said Arcandra who was Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) in the period 2016-2019.

To become a visionary person, Arcandra continued, a leader must be able to evaluate himself. "Why we are here, for whom we lead, and what we can do in the future. With a clear vision, Insya Allah, God willing, Energy Buddies can carve out your careers," he said to the Energy Fest 2020 participants.

Arcandra has recommended millenials to build strong competence. "Vision only is not enough, you must also have competence (knowledge, skills, and experience) so that other people believe you," he said.

Besides Arcandra, Energy Fest 2020 features Communication Coordinator of Ministry of EMR, Ariana Soemanto, who presented future job opportunities in the energy sector and Julia Jasmine, Program Manager of youth career development platform Rencanamu.id presenting a topic on maturing a career at a young age.

Energy Fest 2020 is held on 16-17 December 2020. The virtual event is an education campaign to introduce the energy sector to high school and university students who are grouped as millennials. The event has attracted the attention of more than 1,500 students from across Indonesia to listen to the various materials presented through Zoom Cloud Meeting and the YouTube account of Ministry of EMR.
