Ministry of EMR Achieved Unqualified Opinion Again

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) Arifin Tasrif requested all ranks of his Ministry to maintain Unqualified (WTP) opinion of the Financial Statements. Minister Arifin expressed his request when receiving the Audit Report on the Financial Statements of Ministry of EMR of 2019 from the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI). The Ministry of EMR has achieved the WTP opinion for four consecutive years since 2016.

"I'm grateful we can still maintain the WTP opinion for the fourth time, in the middle of all limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On behalf of the Ministry of EMR, I'd like to say thank you and to express my highest appreciation for the good cooperation as well as the advice and recommendations put forward by the Honorable Member IV of BPK RI and the Audit Team during the audit process," said Minister Arifin in Jakarta on Thursday (23/7).

Minister of EMR appreciates and requests all financial managers, Echelon I and Echelon II officials, and all staff of Ministry of EMR to maintain the WTP opinion.

"On this good occasion, I'd like to say thank you, and to instruct Echelon I and Echelon II officials and all staff to maintain the Unqualified opinion and to continue making efforts to improve good governance and the quality of financial reporting," continued Minister Arifin.

On the same occasion, the Audit Board also handed down the Compliance Audit Report on the Management of State Assets from Contractors of Cooperation Contracts managed by Center for State Assets Management of Ministry of EMR in 2019 with a Substantially Compliant (SDP) conclusion.

"On behalf of Ministry of EMR, I'd like to express my highest gratitude and appreciation for the good cooperation, advice and recommendations extended to us," Minister Arifin concluded.

The laws, especially Law Number 17 of 2003 on State Finances and Law Number 1 of 2004 on State Treasury, have mandated the preparation of ministerial Financial Statements. Financial Statements show the government's accountability in carrying out the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN); thus, every ministry that manages the APBN has the obligation to prepare its Financial Statements.
