Recharging Stations a New Business Opportunity, Says Electricity Business Director
Public Recharging Station (SPKLU) is a business opportunity perfect for domestic manufacturers. The Indonesian government has issued a regulation about recharging infrastructure for Battery-based Electric Vehicles (KBLBB) which will facilitate SPKLU investment.
"The government has provided its support to business players who wish to invest in infrastructure of public recharging station," said Director of Electricity Business Fostering, Ida Nuryatin Finahari, in a site visit to the SPKLU assembly plant of PT Bambang Djaja in Ngoro Industrial Park, East Java Province on Friday (26/2).
Ida said Regulation of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 13 of 2020 on Provision of Recharging Infrastucture for Battery-based Electric Vehicles sets out standard and safety, business scheme/mechanism, and tariff of SPKLU.
Ida suggested PT Bambang Djaja to immediately apply for licenses to manufacture SPKLU. "Bambang Djaja can immediately apply for licenses required in SPKLU manufacture," said Ida.
PT Bambang Djaja Director, Daud Prasetio, said his company was ready to produce SPKLU equipment. The company manufactures three socket types for electric vehicle recharging, namely Type-2 for alternating current recharging, CHAdeMO for direct current, and CCS2 for both alternating and direct currents. All SPKLU equipment manufactured by PT Bambang Djaja was ready to market.
"We'd also like to request the government's support to accelerate provision of KBLBB infrastructure, for example by promoting an increased supply of silicon steel and other equipment that support SPKLU production," said Daud.
PT. Bambang Djaja, better known as B&D Transformer, is a producer of power, distribution, and instrument transformers in Indonesia. Established in 1985 in Surabaya, West Java Province, the company has continued to meet the growing demand for transformators from both local and global markets.
In 2016, PT Bambang Djaja was the first "100% Indonesian" company to manufacture 150 kV power trafo. The company is now developing a 500kV-trafo production line and manufacturing SPKLU equipment for Indonesia domestic needs. (IY)
