Equal Access to Energy is Shared Responsibility, Says Energy Minister at BPH Migas Awards Evening

To appreciate business entities/permanent establishments, local governments, and individuals who have supported downstream oil and gas policies, the national downstream oil and gas regulating agency BPH Migas held a BPH Migas Awards Evening on Monday (20/12).

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Arifin Tasrif, who was present virtually, expressed his hope that the awardees would be more active in supporting the downstream oil and gas businesses in order to realize an equal access to energy for everyone.

"I would like to congratulate the winners of the BPH Awards 2021. Your achievements and selfless contributions mean a lot to the advancement of the Indonesian nation," said Arifin.

Arifin hopes that the award will inspire stakeholders in the EMR sector to continue to strengthen their determination, hard work, and joint contribution to improve the EMR sector, especially in downstream oil and gas, so as to provide maximum benefit for the people's prosperity.

"We hope that energy business actors and local governments will be more active in supporting the downstream oil and gas businesses. Equal access to energy for everyone is our shared responsibility," Arifin added.

Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati, conveyed a similar message.

"Congratulations to the winners of tonight's awards, and thank you for the excellent cooperation. Thank you also for your contribution to providing and distributing fuels and pipeline gas across the Republic of Indonesia. Hopefully you can maintain your achievements, and motivate other business entities to improve performance and go for the awards in the future," said Erika.

Erika went on to say that the BPH Migas Awards were first given in 2019. This year's awards are divided into 12 categories.

"The BPH Migas Awards have been presented since 2019 and this year is the third year we organize the awards. For 2021, we give out the awards in 12 categories which are made up of three large groups, namely for business entities in the fuel sector, business entities in the natural gas sector, and local governments that have made a contribution to distributing and supervising available energy in their respective regions," continued Erika.
