A Solid Agenda in Working Visit of Minister of EMR to Japan, Meeting Strategic Partners to Key Speakers on LNG Terms

A Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) Ignasius Jonan is currently on a working visit to Japan. In the working visit from Monday (16/10) to Wednesday (18/10) this solid agenda has been waiting.

On Monday, Minister Jonan and the delegations will meet with LNG Japan Corporation. LNG Japan Corporation is a business entity engaged in LNG business covering from the process of developing upstream gas, exploration, transport and dismantling LNG at the terminal. Some activities of Japan LNG Corporation in Indonesia are on LNG Tangguh Project.

Minister Jonan will also meet Special Advisor to Japanese Prime Minister Hiroto Izumi. In this meeting will be discussed Indonesia-Japan strategic cooperation in infrastructure development and other bilateral cooperations. On the same day, the EMR Minister will also hold a meeting with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). As known, JBIC is a public funding agency and export credit agency that owned by the Government of Japan.

Next Tuesday, the Minister of EMR along with the delegations will be to Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. Ltd or commonly known as Japex. Japex is a Japanese company that was established since 1970 and has been long enough to invest in Indonesia. The meeting with Inpex is also held on Tuesday. As known, the results of the Minister of EMR's Visit to Japan on 13-16 May 2017, in the meeting with INPEX is to maintain the production level of Mahakam Block.

The next agenda is a meeting with Mitsubishi Corporation. Mitsubishi's investment in the energy and mineral resources sector in Indonesia covers the oil and gas, electricity and mining. After meeting Mitsubishi Corporation, the agenda is continued with Tokyo Gas.

In a meeting with Tokyo Gas in May, the Minister of EMR welcomed Tokyo Gas's hope that Indonesia would continue to supply gas and offers from Tokyo Gas to bring its gas technology to Indonesia. On Tuesday, the Minister of EMR agenda will be closed by meeting the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Continuing on Wednesday, the next agenda of the Minister of EMR is to attend and deliver key messages in the 2017 LNG Producer Consumer Conference. In this conference, Minister Jonan will deliver on sustainable LNG development in Indonesia. On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Jonan is also scheduled to meet with Japan's Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Hiroshige Seko.

The 2017 LNG Producer Consumer Conference is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (METI) and the Asia Pacific Energy Research Center (APERC). Taking the theme of 'Opportunities in LNG Market Driven by Innovation', the conference aims to deepen the mutual understanding of market trends and the development of the global LNG market The conference attended by more than one thousand participants will be attended by Government Representatives, Business and Research Institutions

The Indonesian delegations in this working visit of Minister of EMR at this time is Vice Chairman of Commission VII of DPR RI Satya Widya Yudha, Director General of Oil and Gas Ego Syahrial, Head of SKK Migas Amien Sunaryadi, President Director of PT. PGN Jobi Triananda Hasjim, Director of Gas PT. Pertamina Yenni Andayani and President's Special deputy to Japan Rahmat Gobel.
