78 Retailers Set Up, One-Price Fuel Program Exceeds Target

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) this year has exceeded the target to develop One-Price Fuel retailers in 3T (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped) regions. A total of 78 retailers have been established, or 102% of the target of 76 retailers.

"The One-Price Fuel policy is part of the government's efforts to serve the people in 3T regions. For example, it takes 5 to 10 hours to reach Singkil Aceh area. This program is a manifestation of the government's efforts to implement the fifth principle of Pancasila, that is, social justice for all Indonesians," said the Secretary General of the Ministry of EMR, Ego Syahrial, on Thursday (16/12).

"I really hope this program can benefit the community, that one-price fuels can really be enjoyed by the people who need them and we can realize the transformation to more environmentally friendly fuels," continued Ego.

The Road Map for the Development of One-Price Fuel Retailers has set out that by the end of 2024, a total of 583 retailers will be set up. Since 2017, BPH Migas has consistently overseen the development of One-Price fuel retailers to meet this target.

From 2017 to 2020, a total of 253 retailers have been established. The target for the year 2021 is 76 retailers.

"For 2021, the target for retailer development is 76, while the realization is 78 retailers. We inaugurated 44 retailers in June and September 2021. The inauguration for the remaining 34 retailers will be held at several locations, among others, at Bitung, Banjarmasin, Wayame Ambon, North Gorotalo, Aceh Singkil, and Tenau Kupang fuels stations," said BPH Migas Committee member, Harya Adityawarman.

For the record, an inauguration ceremony was held on 9 June 2021 to simultaneously set up 27 retailers. The event took place at the Pontianak fuel station in West Kalimantan Province. Next, on 16 September 2021, another inauguration ceremony was hosted in Central Lombok to establish 17 retailers, and Minister of EMR officiated the ceremony. This week will also see the establishment of 21 retailers, which ceremony will take place in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Bitung, North Sulawesi; Gorontalo; and Ambon, Maluku.

Accordance to the mandate of laws and regulations, BPH Migas has the task of regulating and supervising the supply and distribution of fuels and the transportation of natural gas throughout Indonesia.

"To ensure that fuels are available at affordable prices throughout Indonesia, the government through Regulation of Minister of EMR Number 36 of 2016 has mandated BPH Migas to oversee the implementation of the One-Price Fuel program. Thus, BPH Migas has assigned Business Entities that Receive Assignment to establish One-Fuel Price retailers at certain locations as determined," Harya concluded. (IY)
