Oil Fuels and LPG Supplies during Idul Fitri Holidays are Safe

Director General of Oil and Gas of Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Tutuka Ariadji, ensures that the supplies of fuel oils and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) during the Idul Fitri 1442 Hijria holidays are safe and can meet public needs.

"Real time data shows that the supplies of oil fuels and LPG are safe," said Tutuka when visiting Pertamina's Command Center, a facility to monitor upstream and downstream oil and gas operations in real time, in Banten on Tuesday (11/5) afternoon.

The national stock of RON 88 Premium gasoline lasts for 27.9 days, RON 92 Pertamax 24.7 days, and Solar diesel 21.3 days. Meanwhile, RON 90 Pertalite, a gasoline type with the largest market share in Indonesia, is a mix between Pertamax and Premium.

Moreover, the stock of LPG lasts for 15 days, kerosene 80.6 days, and aviation fuel Avtur 76.3 days.

Overall, the stock and distribution of fuels during Ramadan and Idul Fitri holidays grow by 9.2 days from the normal average. The distribution of LPG rises by 2.5 days from normal condition, and Avtur 1.4 days from the average normal stock.

To ensure sufficient energy for the public, the Indonesian government through state energy company PT Pertamina has made various efforts, for example increasing the stock and distribution volume of oil fuels and LPG to anticipate the rising demands. Currently, gasoline demand goes up by 8%, diesel 2%, LPG 5.4%, while aviation fuel Avtur lowers by 3.8% compared to the normal average.

Another effort is to ensure that oil fuels and LPG products are safe and sufficient at fuels terminals and LPG terminals, as well as at public filling stations (SPBU) and bulk LPG filling stations (SPBBE). The total number of SPBU put on standby is 7,469, consisting of 3,608 in Java and 3,861 outside Java. Meanwhile, the number of SPBBE on standby is 667, with 4,152 Public Service Obligation (PSO) agents and 820 non-PSO agents.

Pertamina also provides aviation fuel services at 68 aviation fuel depots (DPPU) and maintains the availability of lubricants at industrial filling stations (SPBI) and distribution facilities such as 114 oil fuels terminals (TBBM) and 23 LPG terminals (TLPG).

To meet public demands, Pertamina provides additional fuel and LPG services, for example deploying 148 standby fuel tank cars, 23 Pertashops (small-scale sales outlets), 193 on-call motorcyclists, 2 mobile dispenser points, as well as 48,207 LPG agents and standby LPG outlets. The company also offers cashless payment at all filling stations. (IY)
