Energy Minister Inaugurates 17 One-Price Gas Stations

Through the One-Price Fuel policy, I hope people who live in 3T (frontier, outermost, and less developed) regions outside Java can enjoy oil fuels at the same price with those living in Java, thereby (the principle of) social justice for all Indonesian may be realized and the economic growth in the regions may be developed, said Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) when he inaugurated 17 One-Price gas stations, all of which are located across Indonesia. The inauguration ceremony was concentrated in Central Lombok Regency in West Nusa Tenggara Province on Thursday (16/9).

The 17 gas stations that were inaugurated concurrently are located in Central Lombok, Musi Banyuasin, Seruyan, Malinau, Sintang, Ketapang, Bengkayang, Landak, Melawai, Boven Digoel, Merauke, Siangkil, Lamandau, dan Tambrauw. The inauguration was also held via video conference at 3 locations, namely Musi Banyuasin, Landak, and Bengkayang.

The Ministry of EMR through downstream oil and gas regulatory body BPH Migas has a duty to arrange and monitor the provision and distribution of oil fuels and natural gas across Indonesia. BPH Migas itself is committed to add more One-Price gas stations up to 583 stations by 2024.

"Since 2017, BPH Migas has consistently safeguarded the development of One-Price gas stations. Until 2020, we had developed 253 stations; in 2021, we've built 76 stations, 44 of which or about 58% are already in operation," explained Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati.

Erika went on to say that the responsibility to speed up the development rested on not only the government but also state energy company PT Pertamina (Persero) as the Business Entity that Received the Assignment to distribute fuels, so that the target set for 2021 would be met.

The ceremony was attended by BPH Migas Committee Member Saleh Abdulrahman, Fuel Director of BPH Migas Patuan Alfon S., Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Zulkieflimansyah, Deputy Regent of Central Lombok H.M. Nursiah, Logistics and Infrastructure Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Mulyono, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Alfiana Nasution, and the representatives of the regency governments where the One-Price gas stations were inaugurated.

For the record, the government has set a target to build 35 gas stations in West Nusa Tenggara within the One-Price Fuel Program for the period of 2017-2024. Today, 20 gas stations are in operation. (IY)
