e-PNBP Raises Revenue, Says Mineral and Coal Director General

The e-PNBP application has been very helpful and makes for better governance, Director General of Mineral and Coal of Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR), Ridwan Djamaluddin, has said in a Hearing with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday (7/6).

e-PNBP Minerba, an electronic application that calculates and receives payment of non-tax state revenue from the mineral and coal subsector, has increased state revenues, as reflected from the Rp22.34 trillion revenue collected until the end of May 2021.

Ridwan said the realized non-tax state revenue from the mineral and coal (PNBP Minerba) has reached 54.5% of the Rp39.1 trillion target set for 2021.

Previously, Ridwan explained, the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 had caused the prices of mineral and coal commodities to soar. The PNBP Minerba also fell to Rp34.6 trillion in 2020 from Rp45.49 trillion in the previous year.

Ridwan hopes that the e-PNBP will make calculation of state revenues automatic based on volume and quality. After the finalization process, mining companies can immediately make sales.

The e-PNBP Minerba has 3 main functions, namely calculation, verification, and payment of PNBP. Mining companies can calculate and pay mineral and coal PNBP online so that payment is faster and complies with regulations.

For the record, the e-PNBP Minerba is an online application that can calculate companies' financial obligations accurately. It was launched in 2018. The e-PNBP Minerba is integrated with the SIMPONI application of the Ministry of Finance, so PNBP payments can be made through this application.

The e-PNBP Minerba can calculate fixed fees (land rent) and royalties. It can also show area width, production volume, mining commodity prices as well as sales destinations. (IY)
