BIMA - The provision of electricity in West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) is reinforced through the utilization of renewable energy. Saturday (29/4), located at Kawindai Toi Village, Tambora Sub-district, Bima Regency, NTB, Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (NREEC) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana, accompanied by Kurtubi Member of Commission VII DPR RI inaugurated Mycrohydro (PLTMH) in Bima District with capacity 100 kW, as well as reviewing the performance of Central Bima Centralized Transportation Center and the handover of Public Street Lighting (PJU) in Sumbawa Regency.

"The (PLTMH) built in Kawinda Toi Village, Kabupaten Bima, has a capacity of 100 kW with 150 units of house connections," said Director General of NREEC in his speech at a ceremony attended by members of Vice Regent Bima, Setda Bupati Sumbawa, and beneficiaries.

In addition to environmentally friendly technologies because it does not require a large infrastructure because it utilizes the direct flow from the river (Run River), continued Rida, the cost of operation and maintenance of Micohydro Power (PLTMH) is cheap, the system is also very simple and has good toughness, so reliable.

In addition to PLTMH, utilizing an area of 3,900 m2, a 200 kWp Centralized PLTS built in Muhammad Salahuddin Bima Airport area connected to PLN's low-voltage electrical network and working with On Grid system, distributes power received from the sun directly to the PLN network without using the battery as a media storage.

Electricity from the Solar Power (PLTS) will help meet airport electricity needs during the day and indirectly reduce fuel consumption for PLN power plants in the area. PLTS is chosen because it has the advantage of not producing emissions so environmentally friendly, development time is relatively fast, and can be built with any capacity as needed.

Rida also said that no less important PLTS will be seen by all passengers who will land at Bima Airport. Tourists will feel happy to know the electricity comes from renewable energy, not from coal or fuel that pollutes the air. "Tourists will have fun, there is no way they will have fun in the air of high pollution, so that will increase tourist arrivals to Bima There are only 4 airports in Indonesia that will be assisted by NREEC one of them in this Bima," said Rida.

Elsewhere, Bright PJU, which uses solar light as a source of electrical energy installed as many as 125 units in Sumbawa Regency. PJU lamp is very suitable for roads in areas that have not been reached by electricity and PLN areas are also experiencing electrical energy crisis, especially in remote areas. Intelligent PJU lamps can also be applied in urban areas such as in main roads.

"This intelligent PJU will save the operational and maintenance costs, increase the volume and level the point of light and more energy efficient given the lifetime of LED lamps are relatively longer," said DG of NREEC. (NA)
