LONDON – The Government cq. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources invited UK enterprises to cooperate with Indonesia to increase the added value of mineral and coal in Indonesia. It was one of cooperation offered by Indonesian Government in the 1st RI - UK Energy Dialogue held for information exchange in oil and gas, electricity, mineral and coal, environmentally friendly technology and also energy planning, Wednesday (31/10/2012).
Nunung Eko Ajiwihanto, the editorial staff of esdm.go.id, reported from London that the cooperation was not only about the added value, but both sides also agreed to exchange information and experience in electricity development program, oil and gas, and also willing to improve cooperation especially oil and gas sectors.
Renewable energy development also included in the agenda of the bilateral dialogue. “UK and Indonesia have similar programs and ambition to develop new and renewable energy. Indonesia showed the CCS pilot project to improve understanding and trust in CCS, asked UK to cooperate in The Future Energy Laboratory and UK responded those proposals,” said Nunung.
Nunung continued that the cooperation with UK to develop energy in Indonesia, which is a model based on 2.050, will be discussed more detail through UK Climate Change Unit in British Embassy in Jakarta.
The 1st RI - UK Energy Dialogue in London held on October 29th – 30th, 2012. The Secretary General of EMR, Waryono Karno, Director General of Oil and Gas, Evita H. Legowo, the Head of Research and Development Agency MEMR, Bambang Dwiyanto, the President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), Hendi Prio Santoso and the head of Center for Data and Information MEMR, Ego Syahrial attended the dialogue.
The dialogue is the cooperation of Ministry of EMR and Department of Energy and Climate Change of The United Kingdom. Site visit was done in the first day, while the bilateral meeting of Indonesia – UK back to back with The Second Annual Trade Talk, Ministry of Trade Republic of Indonesia was done in the second day.
